About

So… this is my story.
(well, only the relevant parts)

A long long time ago I discovered my fascination with design… (Initially, I wanted to be a wizard, but the creative field was the closest I was going to get.)

So I started my studies and freelanced to pay for it. After endless sleepless nights and comically large amounts of coffee, I completed my Degree.

Since then I’ve done some interesting things…

My creative journey has taken me from design through advertising, to brand building and development.
Working as a Lead Designer and Art Director on consumer-facing brands such as Converse, Mille, Distell and Bokomo has given me a deep industry understanding of how to take projects from conception through to production.
It was after gaining valuable experience that I focussed on brand strategy and development for start-ups. From the idea stage to creating the brand personality and production of all its content and material. Essentially creating stories
After some years I sought to make a change and turned back to the arts.
My pursuit of creating memorable experiences led me to explore design and creativity beyond its aesthetic value, from commercial ‘storytelling’ to narrative storytelling and writing for film, video and corporate communication.

I wrote, I designed, and I created art

Then… In 2013 I co-founded a creative co-playing space in Muizenberg, South Africa called “Alive Café”.

I took the role of Creative Director and Chief Marketing Officer for the brand and its events, and grew the co-working space to a weekly capacity of 20 tenants (artists and musicians), with weekly public events that attracted up to 200 participants from all over the city.

Many local artists, musicians and writers launched their careers from the Alive Café co-playing space.

Being involved with this was more than I could have wished for.

I was transformed, and so was my work. My creativity grew, and it felt closer to magic than I ever thought possible. It turned into an adventure, and this is when I started to look at what I do as creative exploration—Unbound from a single application.

Whichever way I looked at it, it came down to finding the story behind the madness and chaos.

I’m a Creative Explorer

I write, design, and develop creative experiences. I believe that at the heart of everything is a story and I love finding them.

I explore creativity in three ways:

I need to create my own stories and art; I want to collaborate to tell your stories; and I love to connect to find our collective story.
